Role Summary / Purpose

For our site in Pioltello / Milano, we are looking for a Mechanical & FE Simulation Engineer for the following tasks:
- Design and construction of mechanical and electrical system/products as well as project based solutions.
- Perform finite element analyses to aid and optimize design and validation of new products, focusing to model welded/bolted/riveted joints, fatigue, proof stresses, and safety factors according to railway norms and best practices.
- Provide technology innovations and high product reliability.
- Keep design data base update in order to trace and produce right apparatuses.
- Keep high level of technology in mechanical & electrical products.
- Validate the system/product design with the primary focus on mechanics, supporting actively also the electrical validation of a dedicate group.
- Homologation and testing of solutions according with the relevant standard.
Your Profile
Education
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering with experience in FE simulation for mechanical validation
- Electrical AC/DC Medium / High voltage as a strong plus
Experience & general knowledge required
- Minimum five years of successful industrial experience
- Development or design engineer on mechanical or electro-mechanical devices
- Very good knowledge of 3D CAD modelling software (Solidworks, CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, etc..)
Specific knowledge and experience (advantageous)
- Railway rolling stock industry, international standards & homologation process knowledge as a plus
- Experience with MSC Nastran/Apex/Patran
- Experience with analysis of welded joints and fatigue
Language skills
- English: fluent with ability to create high-quality written reports for clients
- French: beneficial but not required.
