Main benefits
HaslerRail RaPLC-RIO devices are designed for on-board monitoring and troubleshooting systems. These modular remote PLCs acquire and process data from on-board systems. They serve as distributed smart devices for the acquisition and output of physical I/O signals.
A VCU can issue commands to the RaPLC-RIO to be actuated directly; input data can be filtered by means of an embedded Soft PLC, which can be programmed according to the IEC 61131-3 standard to only respond to alarm situations. The RaPLC-RIO can also be programmed to act independently for specific monitoring and control functions.
The software can be customized by the customer using PRISMA IDE Workbench.
Communication between RaPLC-RIO and the VCU is by commonly-used railway fieldbuses, like MVB, Ethernet, or RS485. The RaPLC modular architecture allows the introduction of customized I/O modules as well as communication modules.
