Main benefits
Speed Sensors are converting a target wheel’s rotational motion into an electrical signal, which can be used to measure and record speed and distance, sense wheel slip and slide, and for different control and safety functions.
HaslerRail’s compact HE 2000 Speed Sensor series is ideal when space for the installation is limited. The sensors can be installed in a variety of locations, including on the gear box, where they pick up the speed signal from the gear teeth.
Our Speed Sensor can be configured with push-pull or current outputs and a large variety of cable lengths and connector types. The sensor output pulses on detection of a toothed target wheel down to zero speed.
Variants with two or four electrically-isolated channels are available with phase-shifted outputs to determine the train’s travel direction.
